Nicolas Odinet ( born in 1953 in Le Havre) has been painting (self-taught) since his childhood, although he trained as a pharmacist .
He has been showing his paintings since 1992 in such well-known display rooms as “Les Indépendants Normands”, Rouen University Hospital, “Les Caducées”, the Carmel in Bois Guillaume, and the Tuffier Gallery in Les Andelys .
His paintings are on show every year from Easter to Oktober at the Galerie de Normandie at Saint Vaast la Hougue and in La Baule .
Nicolas Odinet is not simply a figurative painter. He has a special talent in representing skies, open spaces, riversides, and his people are real people .
Without conforming to total realism, he applies his colours in wide colourful strokes of the brush, illustrating admirably the relief of his subjects . He paints with great simplicity, with undeniable talent and great sensivity .
